Production

The Fazenda Tamanduá (“Anteater” Farm) is located in the district of Santa Terezinha, near the city of Patos, in the state of Paraíba, northeastern Brazil. Nestled in the Espinharas forest, the farm lies 7° south of the equator, about 400 km from the coast, in the easternmost part of the South American continent, at an average altitude of 240 meters (787 feet). Its climate is typical of semi-arid tropical regions, with an average annual rainfall of 800 mm, concentrated over a short period of 2 to 4 months, followed by a long dry season lasting from 8 to 12 months.
